I am a Clinical Psychologist with 30 years of experience in the NHS, as well as working in private practice. I have worked with adults in a range of settings, including a specialist therapies service, personality disorders, community teams, hospitals and a GP surgery. I have been involved in developing and leading services in these areas.

Following my professional qualification, I have undertaken further courses including Psychotherapy, Trauma and Group Psychotherapy, training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-processing therapy (EMDR Part 3), Mentallisation Based Therapy (MBT), Structured Clinical Management (SCM) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

In my work I draw on a number of therapeutic approaches depending on the needs and preferences of the person with whom I am working. I see therapy fundamentally as a process of attunement with the person, allowing for a growing understanding of underlying pain, that, along with more specific therapeutic techniques allows for emotional resolution and development.

I have a particular interest in emerging understandings on the impact of trauma and attachment on emotional and physical well being.
