Social anxiety

Many people find social situations at times daunting and  uncomfortable, but  when a person has a persistent fear of social situations, it is known as social anxiety.
Social anxiety can be around fear of humiliation, embarrassment, sense of inadequacy and feeling judged negatively. This often leads to avoidance of a range of social situations, from small gatherings of friends, to meals out, groups at work or parties.

Social anxiety can be helped with  a number of therapies including CBT and group therapy.
