Work related stress

Feelings of stress at work are very common and continually fluctuate throughout peoples’ working life.  However, when these feelings of stress reach a point where people feel that they are no longer able to cope with their job in the way they should, this can be experienced as overwhelming.

Work related stress may arise from changes in the working environment and organisation and could include new management, different team members or new responsibilities or difficult working relationships.

People may find that these stresses can spill over into their personal lives so that other relationships are affected.  They may drink more to cope, find it difficult to not think of work, or feel generally lower in mood.

Many different therapies can help people to make sense of what is happening and find ways of managing.
