I am a Registered Counselling Psychologist with over twenty years experience working in the NHS in various setting including a psychotherapy department, community mental health teams, a hospital setting and an alcohol service. I have been involved in setting up and developing services within these areas.
Prior to training as a psychologist I worked in business and the charity sector including the Samaritans and with the homeless.
I am able to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches depending on a mutual understanding of each person’s difficulties. Throughout my practice I draw on the emerging knowledge and research on our early attachments and how they develop and impact on our relationships throughout the lifespan. I am also particularly interested in how we manage the transitions throughout our lives and how this impacts on our emotions and relationships both with others and within ourselves.
